Gen and the Degenerates
“This band makes songs that would be used in a cop show when a detective was being seduced in a neon-lit bar by a femme fatale.”
Gen and The Degenerates have been gate-crashing the Liverpool music scene for roughly 6 months. Their unique blend of cutting lyrics, emotive riffs and danceable rhythms never fail to disappoint anyone (apart from their mothers). Their frontwoman Genevieve Glynn’s soulful vocals hint at the bands old school blues influences while complimenting the gritty 90s inspired guitar styles. The proudest achievements they’ve garnered include the upkeep of both the guitarist’s hair and the ability to store their drummer in small cupboards and flight cases. In addition to these triumphs they’ve also released two well received singles “Money” and “From The Other”. They have also gained a reputation as a force to be reckoned with live, with support slots for Saint Agnes and Dead Naked Hippies, a headline show at EBGBS and their own monthly artist run night at the historic Jacaranda Club.
